By downloading, installing, or using Saccade ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Saccade is a speed reading training application designed to help users improve their reading speed and comprehension through daily practice sessions. The app uses Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) technique with visual anchoring to train faster reading habits.
Free and Premium Features
Saccade offers both free and premium (Saccade Pro) features:
Free features include:
- Core speed reading training
- Basic progress tracking
- Daily practice sessions
- Multiple training modes
Saccade Pro includes:
- Second Chance feature (two guesses per challenge)
- Detailed progress charts
- Comprehensive comprehension statistics
- Full passage library access
Subscriptions
Saccade Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:
- Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Management: You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
- Free trial: If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Subscription prices are displayed in the app and may vary by region. All prices are subject to change with notice.
Content
The reading passages in Saccade are curated from public domain works by historical authors including Marcus Aurelius, Shakespeare, Thoreau, and others. These passages are used for educational purposes to provide meaningful content during speed reading practice.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or payment systems
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Distribute or make the app available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time
Disclaimer
Saccade is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we strive to provide an effective training tool, we make no guarantees regarding specific reading speed improvements or results. Individual results may vary based on practice consistency and other factors.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill arising out of your use of the app.
Intellectual Property
The Saccade app, including its design, features, and original content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app or any portion thereof without prior written consent.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the app at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
